Attorney in Paris and Brussels since 1993, Thibault Verbiest joined DS Avocats in September 2017 to create the first Pole entirely dedicated to Fintech.

Thibault is also advisor for the World Bank on electronic communications and blockchain regulation.

Between 2000 and 2004, Thibault was the chairman tasked with advising the Belgian federal government on its polymaking approach towards the internet.

In 2013, he founded two fintechs, including Payservices. In 2015 he joined the law firm de Gaulle Fleurance as a partner to create the fintech, blockchain and crypto-currency practice, which has, since then earned a solid reputation before moving to DS Avocats in September 2017 to create the first Pole entirely dedicated to fintech, digital banking and crypto-finance.

He is also the co-author of several books, including the first book on blockchain in French and the seminal piece ’Fintech et Droit’. He regularly contributes to the public debate on blockchain authoring articles and as a speaker at fintech-focused events.
